ATL: WE HAVE STARTED TINKERING…………….
A proud moment for D.A.V.PUSHPANJALI ENCLAVE as it has been selected for the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL ) grant by NITI Aayog under the Atal Innovation Mission(AIM) towards creating an ecosystem of innovation in the country amongst thousands of application submitted for the same. The lab created is very spacious and has all the basic facilities required by the students to explore ,innovate and create. All the tools and materials placed are in sync with the ATL curriculum. The school is also inviting neighborhood schools and community to use the lab facilities.
Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is Government of India’s NITI Aayog ,endeavour to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Its objective is to serve as a platform for promotion of world-class Innovation Hubs, Grand Challenges, Start-up businesses and other self-employment activities, particularly in technology driven areas.
With a vision to ‘Cultivate one Million children in India as Neoteric Innovators’, Atal Innovation Mission has established Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) in schools across India. The objective of this scheme is to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds; and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc.
ATL is a work space where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands on do-it-yourself mode; and learn innovation skills. Young children will get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). ATL would contain educational and learning ‘do it yourself’ kits and equipment on – science, electronics, robotics, open source microcontroller boards, sensors and 3D printers and computers. Other desirable facilities include meeting rooms and video conferencing facility.

To encourage our young scientist to come up with new ideas , DAV Pushpanjali organized an ATL Session. The session was conducted by Mr Yash from Robotics Wizard. The students were made familiar with the equipments that will be available in the ATL Lab. Various real time projects were discussed and shown live on you tube to encourage the students. Practical Applications of Agritech kit, Drone kit, Bio Tech kit were discussed. Simple experiments were performed by the students to relate science with the real life. Exposure to Arduino programming was given. The workshop created curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds; and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc. It was an overwhelming experience.
